Lay Institute for Global Health Training (L.I.G.H.T.)

The goal of L.I.G.H.T. is to foster a worldwide expansion of health evangelism by helping our six-month graduates establish permanent centers of health and healing around the world.

To choose L.I.G.H.T. as a mission destination one needs to first take one of Mission Extreme's health evangelism training courses. Specific mission assignment will be decided in the first 6 - 8 weeks of health evangelism training when students will be interviewed by a L.I.G.H.T. representative to discover what opportunity would best fit them.

Those who choose this option will be undergoing pioneer work in establishing a new mission outpost which will include a six-month health evangelism training course, community outreach, and the development of industry for ministry self-support. Amount of responsibility in the mission field will be largely determined by the performance of the student in their six-month training.

Experiences may include:

  • Teaching health and Bible classes
  • Leading out in community health expo’s
  • Door to door medical missionary work
  • Community cooking classes/health lectures
  • Bible studies
  • Evangelistic campaign
  • Helping to develop industry
  • Administrative responsibilities

Practical information:
